Dubai, May 30, 2025 – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has relaunched its direct seasonal flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Skardu (KDU), a scenic destination in northern Pakistan. The inaugural event was held at the PIA Dubai office and attended by Consul General Hussain Muhammad, alongside members of a foreign tourist group flying on the first flight.
Sarmad Aizaz, PIA’s regional manager, called the service a “significant step toward boosting tourism and strengthening UAE-Pakistan ties.”
The relaunch comes as PIA records its first net profit in over two decades, reporting a Rs26.2 billion gain in FY 2024. The government is now preparing for a second attempt to privatise the national carrier, having already absorbed nearly 80% of its legacy debt.
