Islamabad ( barjasta news) The Department of Libraries organized a grand and dignified ceremony on August 14, 2025, at the Islamabad Public Library, Sector H-9, to mark “Pakistan Independence Day and Mark-e-Haq 2025.” The event was attended in large numbers by scholars, researchers, teachers, students, and citizens. The proceedings formally began with a solemn national flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by a visit to the book exhibition, which featured rare and valuable books and documents related to Pakistan’s independence, the struggle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the history of the Indian subcontinent. A seminar was also held, presided over by Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Director General of the Department of Libraries.
In his opening remarks, he highlighted the significance of Independence Day and Mark-e-Haq, stating that libraries are not only centers of knowledge and research but also play a vital role in promoting national awareness and acquainting future generations with their history.
Renowned researchers, including Professor Dr. Z.A. Qureshi, Professor Dr. Shehzad Qaiser, and Dr. Sajid Mirza, presented their scholarly papers, offering comprehensive discussions on the freedom movement, the personality of Quaid-e-Azam, and Mark-e-Haq. Their talks were warmly appreciated by the audience. At the conclusion of the ceremony, a cake-cutting ceremony was held to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, and prayers were offered for the stability and prosperity of the country.
