Imran Khan Rejects Personal Deal, Says Talks Only in National Interest — PTI Protest Plan Coming Soon

RAWALPINDI, May 29, 2025:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has firmly rejected any form of personal compromise or deal, stating that while he remains open to dialogue, it must be purely in the national interest.

This was revealed by PTI Senator Ali Zafar after his recent meeting with the incarcerated leader at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.

The 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician has been in prison since August 2023, facing multiple charges ranging from corruption to terrorism, following his ouster through a no-confidence motion in April 2022.

Senator Zafar said Imran Khan made it clear he has never sought concessions for himself. “If I had to ask for leniency, I would have done it long ago,” Khan reportedly said.

His remarks follow an appeal by his sister, Aleema Khan, urging Pakistan’s “unseen forces” to engage in talks through a give-and-take approach. In response, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said the proposal could be considered but termed it a “fragile effort” that might be “explored.”

Speaking to reporters, Zafar quoted Imran Khan: “I am ready for dialogue in the interest of national unity. My doors are open to the establishment for meaningful talks.”

Khan also strongly stated that “no one will be allowed to play on both sides of the wicket anymore,” sending a clear message to power brokers that silence or double-dealing would no longer be tolerated.

Reiterating his demand for justice, Khan said: “I only want justice. Expedite my legal cases and ensure a fair trial.”

The former premier confirmed that PTI has launched a protest movement. A detailed strategy will be announced within the next five to six days. He also instructed PTI leadership to be fully prepared for the upcoming political campaign.
