Hasan Ali’s Five-Wicket Haul and Shadab Khan’s All-Round Brilliance Power Pakistan to Dominant Win Over Bangladesh in 1st T20I

Pakistan 201 for 7 (Salman 56, Shadab 48, Shoriful 2-32) beat Bangladesh 164 (Litton 48, Jaker 36, Hasan Ali 5-30) by 37 runs

Lahore, May 28, 2025 – Pakistan launched their T20I series against Bangladesh with a commanding performance in Lahore, securing a 1-0 lead with a 34-run victory, thanks to Hasan Ali’s career-best 5-wicket haul and Shadab Khan’s explosive all-round effort.

Hasan Ali Wrecks Bangladesh With Career-Best 5/30

Playing his first T20I in a year, Hasan Ali made a thunderous return, dismantling the Bangladeshi batting lineup with figures of 5 for 30. The veteran seamer struck early, removing both openers with the new ball. He returned later in the innings to clean up the dangerous Jaker Ali, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Shoriful Islam, sealing the game in Pakistan’s favor.

Salman Agha and Shadab Khan Anchor Pakistan to 201

After early setbacks, Pakistan recovered through a superb 56 off 34 balls from skipper Salman Agha and a blistering 48 off 25 balls from Shadab Khan. Their efforts propelled Pakistan to a strong total of 201/7.

The innings started shakily as openers Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman fell within the first two overs. Ayub, returning from injury, departed for a golden duck, while Fakhar was trapped LBW by Shoriful Islam—who celebrated his 50th T20I wicket.

However, Mohammad Haris counterattacked with 31 off 18, followed by a crucial 65-run partnership between Salman and young talent Hassan Nawaz, who smashed a quick 44 off 22 deliveries.

Middle-Order Firepower: Nawaz and Shadab Turn Up the Heat

Hassan Nawaz’s fireworks included multiple sixes off Rishad Hossain and Hasan Mahmud, keeping the scoreboard ticking. After his dismissal, Shadab Khan took charge in the death overs, cracking two sixes and four boundaries, including 16 runs off Shoriful’s final over. His late cameo was instrumental in pushing Pakistan past the 200-run mark.

Bangladesh Falter Despite Litton and Jaker’s Resistance

In response, Bangladesh could manage only 167/9. Litton Das top-scored with a composed 48, while Jaker Ali provided late resistance with a quickfire 36 off 21. However, regular wickets and tight bowling—especially from Hasan Ali—kept the chase in check.

Despite brief flurries from the middle order, Bangladesh struggled to maintain momentum and fell well short of the target.
